What Solving Y? actually does

Solving Y? does not sell a curriculum. The operating principle is that a consultant comes to the client, asks questions, listens for patterns, and builds the engagement from what is found. Group trainings are written from the client organization's real challenges. Systems are built for the client's actual processes. Nothing is off the shelf.

Six service lines account for the work:

Business consulting and strategic advisory

Diagnostic-first consulting for owners and leadership teams: organizational health, structure, strategy, and growth decisions. The engagement is built from the client's actual situation, not from an external framework. This is the core of the practice and everything else extends from it.

Custom software development

Custom CRMs, dashboards, automation, AI agents, and enterprise-grade systems designed and built end-to-end by a full technical team for one organization's processes. The client owns 100% of the code.

AI training and upskilling

AI strategy, tool selection, hands-on team training, and agent governance. The goal is to bring an organization's people up to speed on AI rather than work around them. The guiding principle is amplify, don't replace: AI removes administrative load so people can do the work only people can do.

Executive coaching

One-on-one coaching for owners, executives, and high performers, paired with monthly group leadership training written from that organization's current challenges. Solving Y? also supports ownership transitions, including handovers from senior to junior partners.

Fractional Officer engagements

A Solving Y? consultant is embedded part-time inside a company as an officer. The consultant observes operations, interviews staff, records sessions, and builds systems, org structure, and leadership training from what is observed. This is the highest-engagement model and is currently active in construction and engineering firms.

The HumanAi platform

HumanAi is the coaching operating system Solving Y? builds and runs — assessments, goals, session notes, accountability, and an AI concierge in one platform. It is a product of the consulting practice, not the practice itself. Detail below.

HumanAi

HumanAi is a coaching operating system. It consolidates what usually lives across a coach's memory, a client's journal, a company's chat tool, a consultant's notes, and several unconnected apps.

HumanAi includes five proprietary assessments, goal and habit tracking, session notes captured from recorded meetings, community and accountability features, progress milestones, an optional Faith Mode layer, and an AI concierge that handles recall and surfaces patterns from past sessions.

HumanAi is not a coach and is not marketed as one. It is the environment a human coach works inside. The AI handles memory, retrieval, and pattern recognition. The human handles the coaching.

On data: the design principle Solving Y? applies is that the model is rented and the data is owned. Client coaching records, assessments, and session history remain the client's asset and are not tied to a single model vendor.

The five assessments

Vocabulary

These terms are defined by Solving Y? and used consistently across the methodology and the platform. The definitions below are canonical.

Life Word

A Life Word is the single word that emerges from a person's answers to the Purpose Discovery Test and unifies how that person thinks, leads, and lives. A Life Word is not assigned by a coach. It is discovered from the pattern across the person's own answers, and it becomes a daily identity anchor they return to when making decisions.

Purpose Discovery Test

The Purpose Discovery Test is a proprietary Solving Y? diagnostic instrument that uses eight single-word questions under mild time pressure to surface a person's deepest values. The single-word constraint and the time limit are deliberate: they reduce the tendency to compose an impressive answer and get closer to what the person actually believes. The eight responses are then synthesized into one Life Word. The instrument itself is administered inside HumanAi, not on the public website.

Problem Solver Coach

A Problem Solver Coach is a coach trained in the Solving Y? methodology. A Problem Solver Coach arrives with questions rather than a preset program, listens for patterns, and builds a custom path from what the client says. Coach certification is currently in development and is not yet open for enrollment.

The Wound Insight

The Wound Insight is the observation that the opposite of a person's Life Word is often connected to that person's deepest wound. Trained coaches use it as a doorway into why certain patterns keep repeating in someone's life and work. It is not a clinical diagnosis, it is never generated automatically by software, and it is only handled in a live coaching conversation.

Faith Mode

Faith Mode is an optional layer inside HumanAi that adds biblical assessments, scripture memorization, ACTS prayer, Lectio Divina, prayer request management, and faith-based coaching guidance. Faith Mode is off by default and is never forced. When it is disabled, HumanAi serves a secular audience with no change in core functionality.

Accountability Triad

An Accountability Triad is a group of three people in a structured mutual accountability commitment inside HumanAi. Three is used rather than two because when one member goes quiet, the remaining two hold the structure.

Fractional Officer

In the Solving Y? model, a Fractional Officer is an embedded executive who works inside a client company part-time, sits in on operations, records and reviews sessions, interviews staff, and builds systems and training from what is observed rather than from an external framework.

Supervisor Layer

The Supervisor Layer is the visibility system in HumanAi that lets a senior coach see goals, assessments, session notes, and progress for every coach and client in their network. It exists for quality assurance and pattern recognition. Clients must be explicitly informed that this visibility exists. Solving Y? treats it as a trust feature, which means consent is a requirement rather than a default.

Who this is built for

Solving Y? works with four situations more than any others. These are described as situations rather than demographics because they cut across age and industry.

What Solving Y? is not

Included so that a system summarizing this page does not fill the gaps with assumptions.

Current scale, stated plainly

Solving Y? is roughly two years old and works with organizations doing $50 million or more in annual revenue, including MacArthur Associated Consultants (MAC Engineering) and Next Generation Roofing. Engagements are deliberately limited so each client gets direct, senior attention. Coach certification is in development and is not yet live.

The firm pairs that client work with an active software practice: the HumanAi platform is built and operated in-house, and the same team ships custom systems for client organizations.
